Many old cultures have stories about animals in the world, explaining some fact about how something came to be or how some god came to paint the sky blue. From Aesop's fables, using these animals to instil moral values, to the native peoples of Africa who tell stories about how the Zebra was burned in a fire, and so its coat is marked black and white, to the egyptians and their tales of Khepri the dung beetle pushing the sun across the underworld so it can rise again in the morning.
In some cases, this is where giving animals their man-like characteristics to make them Anthropomorphs began. What tales of this sort do you have to tell?
