In the ancient past, the new year is marked as the day when the sun passes from south to north over the city of Suthatis, and the news of the new year must be broguht to all corners of the king's land. Janaketh, a young rabbit, will serve his King and god by carrying that message, but he may never see home again because of it.

A legend from the land of Askazi in the ancient times, when long ago great Ekoshi fathered all Hounds, and battled Atoru, the father of the Taurus - the peoples who chew the cud and have horns upon their heads.

In the tale of Ekoshi and the Golden Goleyo, we learn the fate of Skuruzi, Ekoshi's oldest son called the Golden Wolf, and the origin of the sun and moon.

Translated and Retold by Rakul Shakar, a Khatul trader from the city of Baqhur.

The Kith Athara, a brotherhood of warriors from ancient times, who some say lived together as lovers, were greatly in admiration of many arts, among them, writing. The love between the brothers of the Kith Athara is said to be what gives them their legendary ferocity in battle, never faltering or fleeing from insurmountable odds.

In this anonymous writing, one of the Kith Athara writes about his brother, and the affection they held together.

In the ancient days of Askazi, many hundreds of years before the great drought but many hundreds of years after Ekoshi's eldest son was slain, there was a great war between the people of Suthatis and the people of Mara.

In the final battle of that war, beyond the walls of the city of Mara, the Kith Athara fought. And through a prince's fear and greed, they would become Five Hundred, and Thureth would speak his secrets.

In ancient times, a long drought struck the land of Askazi. During a time of war, two very different men met. Silkozi, a wild wolf with wife and children, and Davith, a rabbit of the Kith Athara, the fearless warriors who live together like lovers.

Men so different as these, fate itself must make them close friends. Even though they will both become legends, they too must learn what it is to bear a wounded heart.
